Hello from 8CM!
We are a year 8 class from Saint Kentigern Collegewhich is in Pakuranga, East Auckland. Saint Kentigern College is a Presbyterian College and is of a Scottish heritage. We have 25 girls in our class and our teacher is Mr. Watts. Our College is a co-ed school that ranges from year 7- 13.Throughout the year our class has done many worthwhile activities, such as 40 hour famine, Operation Christmas child, Cancer Society Daffodil day and SPCA. We hope we can help with this project and we are looking forward to working with you.

Hi, we are the 24 boys from 8AWF and come from Saint Kentigern College in Auckland. Our School has a great heritage dating all the way back too Scotland with our school starting in 1953. We are situated in Pakuranga with our grounds backing onto the Tamaki Estuary. We have a proud tradition of Rowing and Rugby in the school with both the top teams doing very well in the competitions. At the moment we have an attendance of 1600 students and 130 teachers with grounds of 140 hectares.

Our class has a great mix of enthusiastic boys mixed with a few really bright kids. We also have some boys who are well suited to do the practical activities. We are really stoked about entering this activity and helping various young kids who are less fortunate then us be able to wash their hands hygienically. We are looking forward to this challenging project.

Hi Monika and the other participants,
We are 2 classes from Tokomairiro High School in Milton, 7Fe and 7Ra. Our town is about 40mins south of Dunedin and our school has 250 students. Tokomairiro is a little different as we have from year 7 students to year 13.
Around Milton we have a lot of farm land and forestry. This term will see the start of boys and girls cricket which we are looking forward to. We are also all looking forward to taking part in the project.

Kia ora,

We are a class of year nine students from Hukarere Girls College which is situated at Eskdale, a twenty minute drive north of Napier on the Napier-Taupo highway. We are an Anglican church Boarding School for years nine to thirteen. At the moment we have about fifty boarders and about fifty day pupils. We are one of the biggest classes in the school with 24 pupils. We have Religious Education every Tuesday for about an hour and this is the time we have to do the warablong project. We had to study the church mission statement first to see how the project could be part of this subject. Here at Hukarere our curriculum is excellent and we all achieve individually as well as in a team.

Our brother school is Te Aute College in Pukehou about 20 minutes south of Hastings which is about half an hour from Napier.

Our school motto is "Kia U ki Te Pai" which comes from the Bible - Romans 12:9 and means hang on to that which is good.

Hi!  Our class has 17 pupils from Year 3-7.  We go to The Southland Adventist Christian School in Invercargill.   Invercargill is at the bottom of the South Island in New Zealand.

There is about 53,000 people in Invercargill and we are only 2 hours driving away from Queenstown which is a well known holiday resort.  Invercargill is in Southland which is a farming province.  There are a lot of sheep and diary farms in the countryside around Invercargill. Our weather is not that great, sometimes it is really good and other times pretty bad.  We have plenty of fresh clean water around and can even drink straight from our lakes and most of the rivers. We really like Southland because it is a safe place to live and the environment is fairly clean and we are not far from some neat holiday spots like Queenstown, Te Anau and The Catlins.

We are looking forward to doing this project and hopefully coming up with some water saving devices for the people in Papua New Guinea.

Hi everyone-We are the Middle Room at Argyll East School. We are a little country school in Central Hawkes Bay. There are 60 children at our school and there are 25 year 3-5's in our class. Our school is over 100 years old. Some of us live in town and others live in the country and we all get the bus to school. Our school uniform is yellow and blue and our motto is Achieve and Succeed.

We have 5 acres of land around our school we help farm. We have steers on it. We look after our environment by recycling rubbish and we have a wormery. We will be spraying the worm wee we collect on the grass to fertilize it, this summer. We are involved in redecorating and remodelling our toilet block at
school so this seemed a good project for us to take part in.
The Middle Room

Hi everyone,
We are a class of year 6 to 8 from Herekino School. There are 28 of us in the class, 12 girls and 16 boys. We are the biggest class. The name of our classroom is Titipounamu (The Rifleman). The other classrooms are Kiwi and Pukeko. We love our school because it is a happy school. The teachers respect us and we respect them. Our teacher lived in Bougainville Island (North Solomon Province) from 1980 to 1986. She showed some photos on cocoa plantation.

Our is a full primary school in a coastal rural community approximately 20 minutes from Kaitaia and 15 minutes from Ninety Mile Beach. The school roll fluctuates between 60 to 75 pupils.

The school has a wide catchment area which is made up of six different areas with the school being the central point.Three bus routes serve the school. The school is also the linking point for the college students who travel to Kaitaia for their secondary education.
