All
Dunedin school students were invited to take part in the UpSouth project
- an educational tourism project to celebrate
and promote Dunedin. This Dunedin City Council online project aimed to
get students involved in the Labour weekend Just the Ticket Festival,
which celebrates 100 years of the Dunedin Railway Station and other notable
Dunedin heritage sites, and advertise them to students throughout New
Zealand
This supported educational Internet project was for students, from years 1 to 10 and runs for 10 weeks in term 3, 2006. It is an integrated curriculum-based project assisting Dunedin students to understand one of the best-preserved "living" Victorian and Edwardian cities in the Southern Hemisphere. Students were invited to present their knowledge of a heritage site that meant something to them to their peers via tourism pages on this Internet site.
