The
handwashing prototypes need to be very robust. Often they
will be situated close to a rugby field and need to withstand
a rugby ball hitting it at high velocity. Many students will
use such a device and it cannot fall apart after a few uses.
The
device needs to be able to withstand rough handling by school
pupils and to be outside where it may be buffeted by
wind, rain and sun. What happens when it is raining?
Would
your device withstand a drop test? Hold
it one metre above the floor and drop it. How could you design
your own durability test?
