Effectiveness

The use of Tee tree oil is sound as it is anti microbial and
with the other ingredients would form a type of soap.

User friendly

As it is soap and water and one solution could be used for
lots of hand washing.

Not necessary to boil the water as the oil would act to kill the bugs, but could be used as a safety rpecaution as boiling water sterilises it.

Dr Norris comments...

A very pretty poem with, nice art work but it's not clear what the product is.

Dr Norris comments...This requires a lot of technology for kids in PNG to see it. Such technology is not available. It shows NZ toilets & wash basins and they may not look like this in PNG.

Dr Norris comments...

It is pretty with nice art work. It's good to see that the hands are brown but it's not clear that the kids would learn about handwashing from it.

Dr Norris comments...

I don't really understand this such as buy what now?

Dr Norris comments...

It's good that it's repetitive but it assume a lot of knowledge about germs. It would be better to show brown hands.

Dr Norris comments...

This requires a lot of technology for kids in PNG to see it. Such technology is not available. It's a clear simple message but I'm not sure what the drawing is of.

This requires a lot of technology for kids in PNG to see it. Such technology is not available. Simple and funny. It shows NZ toilets & wash basins and they may not look like this in PNG.

Dr Norris comments...

It's quite a cool idea to have a story about a germ but it assumes that children knows what a germ and a wishwasher is.

· Effectiveness

Good and innovative ideas shown. You will know how well it works when you build and test it.

The reuse of water is a good idea in that it will save water, however there might be some health issues if the disinfectant solution does not work.

· Durability

It is necessary to say what materials are used.

· User-friendliness

It's straight forward design.

· Communication

Well presented in a neat and colourful diagram.

· Effectiveness

Good ideas. How will you test it? You will know how well it works if you can build and test it. A well is likely to be too deep for using the washing tank.

· Durability

It is necessary to say what materials are used.

· User-friendliness

It's straight forward design. I don't understand how the levers will work.

· Communication

Well presented in a neat and colourful diagram.

Dr Norris comments...

A sweet idea but I'm not sure what kids would learn from it.

The Water-O-Matic

Elvis: Man I wish I had something to wash my hands with……. SO

UNHYGENIC!!!!KERPOW!!!!!

Water-O-Matic: I am the Water-O-Matic and I am here to collect water for you!

Elvis: Really?

Water-O-Matic: No

Elvis: Oh……

Water-O-Matic: Just kidding

Elvis: But I don't know how to work you.

Water-O-Matic: Well all you need is soap.

Elvis: yeeessss I have soap but what do you do actually?

Water-O-Matic: Well here's a song to help you…… The water goes into the trayyyyyyyyy and it goes into a tankkkkkk(filled with ti tree leaves) and a pipe connects to a tap (which is me!) and the used tap water goes to the toi………. leeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttt!

Elvis: Ummmm could you say it again not singing?

Water-O-Matic: (sighs) ok……… well firstly there is a tray which collects water and two pipes connected to the tray take the water to either tap water or drinking water.
The water which goes into the tap pipe goes to a tank which stores the water until you use it. Same with the drinking water.

Elvis: Ohhhhhh now I get it!

Water-O-Matic: yeah…… great

Elvis: Ok thank you

Water-O-Matic: now I have to go……

Elvis: oh no! why? You just can't leave

Water-O-Matic: its not my call

Elvis: Who did this to you?!

Water-O-Matic: That's personal!

Elvis: oh sorry…..

Water-O-Matic: I will still be here…….

Elvis: That's great!

Water-O-Matic: but I'll lose my voice and my ability to move.

Elvis: Well (sniffs and starts sobbing uncontrollably) bye

Water-O-Matic: Goodbye………………………………. Son

Fades into the distance towards the school

Elvis: Father…… NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

There
are some good ideas but it's a bit hard to follow and there is some New Zealand humour that might not translate easily to PNG.
