Expert feedback from John Cocks, waste engineer |

Cashlin, Taylor & Huriyyih's Bucket Device. |
Effectiveness: The concept is great having both hot and cold water. You are the only ones to have though of that. It's really very clever. While the concept is great it would be a good idea to build it and then you would know whether it really works. You would also know how to make the connections.
Durability: The materials should be durable, however, more information is needed to see how durable the connections would be.
User-friendliness: Yes. It's very user-friendly and you can work out how is use it easily.
Communication: Well explained visually and in words. |

Solmaz, Hazel, Khailana and Chontelle's contraption. |
Effectiveness: The concept is right. Your diagram is very nicely presented as well. However there are insufficient instructions to guide somebody in building it. Have you tried to build this yourself?
Durability: The materials should be durable, however, more information is needed to see how durable the connections should be.
User-friendliness: Yes. Students in Papua New Guinea could work out how to use it in seconds.
Communication: Well explained visually and in words. |

Joseph, Joe and Mac's device. |
Effectiveness: It's a great idea and well presented. The experience of building it will demonstrate how you would put the various materials together and then you will be able to test it and see how it works. We think, by the time you get your hands to the water it would have gone.
Durability: The materials look durable. Would that funnel withstand a rugby ball being kicked at it. Anything in a school has to be very strongly made.
User-friendliness: Yes. We could understand how it works easily.
Communication: Well explained visually and in words. It's a great diagram. |

Although I can see that this is a well set out poster, unfortunately I cannot read the text. |
|
I like the way you have set out the text. It is very effective and attractive. I could say the same about the hands graphic too.
However, in places where there is little water, flush loos like the one in your poster don't exist. There would probably be some sort of long drop instead. |

You reinforce the washing hands message nicely throughout the poster. I also like the way you have set out the text.
However, you find white hands in New Zealand schools. |
