This is
How You Wash Your Hands
This
is the way we wash our hands
Wash our hands, wash our hands.
This is the way we wash our hands
To keep the germs away.
Now
we have to wet our hands,
Wet our hands, wet our hands.
Now we have to wet our hands
And put some soap on them.
Now
we have to rub, rub, rub
Rub rub rub, rub rub rub.
Now we have to rub, rub, rub
To give the germs a fright.
|
Now
we have to rinse, rinse, rinse,
Rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse.
Now we have to rinse, rinse, rinse,
And dry them with a towel.
Now
your hands are clean, clean, clean
Clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean
Now your hands are clean, clean, clean
And they are germ free
That
is how we wash our hands
Wash our hands wash our hands
That is how we wash our hands
To keep the germs away.

NOTE:
The tune to the song is Early in the Morning. It is a
pre-school song that teaches children to wash their faces,
brush their teeth etc. Rather than early we used to sing
Ear-lie in the Morning. We hope you know this song and
tune.

Communication
- I know this song was supposed to be part of your movie.
I am sorry your movie got corrupted. The song is great
- even more so because it is so repetitive.

Communication
- This game looks magnificent. The colours should appeal
to PNG students and I really, really like the counters
you have made. It's a good idea for the worms to go down
and there are plenty of health messages throughout. Well
done!

Communication
- It's certainly to the point although the students in
PNG might wonder about the white hands.

Communication
- Nice and brightly coloured and it should do the trick
of reminding students to wash their hands but again the
poster shows white hands.

Communication
- Is that word wash? Another pair of white hands which
perhaps may not get the point across.

Water Cleaning Steam Collecting Machine
We
looked carefully at what resources PNG had and realised
that they used fire for cooking and so wanted to bring
into our idea something that was already being used and
that was fire.
Our
device should be built out of old drums (recyclable),
and built to the design we have drawn. We weren't able
to use a drum so we made our model out of recyclable timber
we got from our wood technology department. We, of course,
were not able to light a fire under the wood to test our
theory but we used kettles and pots to boil water and
get a better idea of how our idea would work.
Our
design means that the water can be recycled up to three,
four times. Water can either be fresh or salty, the water
is poured into our water cleaning system and the fire
is lit to get the water boiling whereupon the steam is
collected into the lit and drips into the drain pipe which
then travels down the pipe and into a collection barrel.
This water can then be used to wash hands and the water
is not tossed away but returned to the water cleaning
system where it goes through the process again.

Effectiveness
- It is a great idea with heaps and heaps of potential.
Theoretically it should all work. You would have to make
sure the water was boiled for long enough to kill all
germs. The highlands are 1,000 m above sea level so the
altitude might affect the boiling.
Durability
- old drums should be sturdy but will break down over
time with a constant fire underneath.
User-friendliness
- Simple to understand which is good.

Communication
- another great game. There are a range of activities
the students could do which is great. The village and
well however, look like something from the English countryside.
